- Developmentally appropriate centers provided to allow children to make
choices and participate in each activity
- Centers include science demonstrations, manipulatives, puzzles, blocks,
home living and a quiet book area. A sand and/or water table is brought in for hands-on activities periodically.
- A computer with Early Childhood Education software is available on a weekly basis.
- Art centers are provided to allow children to express themselves and to develop writing skills.
- Language arts continues the whole language concept as well as introductory phonics and developmentally appropriate writing experiences.
- Children are introduced to writing their letters using D’Nelian form preferred by most elementary schools.
- Star of the Week provides the child with motivation for communicating information about his family and favorite toys.
- Circle time becomes longer and more important as the group discusses the calendar, weather and helper chart. It also includes language awareness, phonics and math activities, stories, songs, finger plays, "letter of the week" and sharing information about the unit being discussed.
- Music, Movement, Spanish and Kidokinetics are also included.
- Recreation time on the preschool playground
- During inclement weather, the Fellowship Hall is available for exercising
those large muscles.
- Children's chapel with one of the Pastors from the Reformed Church
once a month. Parents are always invited to attend.
- Mid morning snack of milk and crackers is provided.
- Lunch is brought from home along with a non-carbonated beverage.
