PreK

 

  • Maximum Ratio 18:2 or 9:1
  • Class meets 5 days a week with expanded curriculum from the 4s.   
  • This class is for children who benefit from another year in preschool or for children turning 5 by December 31st.                           
  • Language arts study reviews concepts and letter/sound recognition while continuing to encourage creative writing.
  • Number recognition and set matching develop pre-math skills.
  • Free art allows the child to develop stroke mastery and small muscle control necessary in building prewriting skills.
  • Star of the Week continues to build self esteem.
  • A computer available twice a week.
  • Science centers offer more "hands-on" experiences.
  • Music is offered two days per week.
  • Movement, Spanish, and Kidokinetics is offered.
  • Cooking with the teachers AND in the home living center provides experiences in language arts, math and science.
  • Children's chapel with one of the Pastor's from the Reformed Church once a month.  Parents are always invited to attend.
  • Recreation time on the preschool playground
  • During inclement weather, the Fellowship Hall is available for exercising those large muscles.
  • Children must turn five by December 31st of the school year that they enter the PreK class.
